DISASTER RESPONSE

Guatemala is an area highly susceptible to earthquakes. On Tuesday, February 16th, a 6.8 earthquake affected the territory, causing several damages in certain areas of the country. Habitat Guatemala is helping the affected families rebuild their homes.  Join us!

Hybrid Home Program

Following the same goal of supporting families living in extreme poverty conditions with more tangible solutions, in 2019 HFHG created the Hybrid House program: providing families with four walls and a safe roof. The Hybrid Home is a two room home, built with a mix of traditional materials: adobe blocks, cement blocks and wood.

TROPICAL STORMS ETA-IOTA RESPONSE

Tropical Storms Eta & Iota have brought disastrous flooding across Central America, with mudslides and flooding across the region.

Habitat Guatemala, wants to support affected families with different emergency products during this difficult time.

General Fund

Today, HFHG has the widest reach and highest productivity of all of non-governmental housing programs working in Guatemala, with 3,000 housing solutions offered annually, providing shelter to more than 15,750 Guatemalans every year.

Modern World Language supporting New Jerusalen Community

With the highest cases of malnutrition and living in extreme poverty, the community of Nueva Jerusalén, Alta Verapaz is also in need of access to potable water.

That is why Modern World Language has partnered with us to raise funds for the implementation of a rainwater harvesting system. In order to support 58 families get the proper resources they need to not only live but strive in their community.

Support this family of six to improve their quality of life, by making necessary improvements to their home. Unfortunately, they are currently living in poor conditions due to the money that they have had to spend to maintain one of their son’s health, who suffers from cleft palate.
