Habitat Guatemala celebrated the construction of House 30,000 on Friday, May 15th 2009. The event was held in Quetzaltenango (Xela), where national and international volunteers worked with Habitat Guatemala staff to build ten houses in a week of hard work.The event also marked the 30th anniversary of Habitat Guatemala, which was founded in 1979. During the same month, 20 houses were built throughout the country, including the ten in Xela. These houses represent the work of thirty years of Habitat Guatemala and the mission of 30,000 Habitat homes nationwide.
